Doug Marcaida, a Filipino-born martial artist, edged weapons specialist, and knife designer based in Upstate New York, began his martial arts journey at age 8 and discovered his passion for Filipino Martial Arts at 25. Air Force veteran and former Respiratory Therapist of 20 years, Doug developed his own style called Marcaida Kali and has traveled globally to train military and first responders in his protective philosophy: “It’s not about how many you hurt, it’s about how many you protect,” which inspired his catchphrase, “It will K.E.Al” (Keep Everyone Alive).
