Privacy at a glance

The practical overview.

Skate Terminal is a global skating directory. We use information to operate the website, maintain useful listings, deliver features you request, protect the platform, and communicate about accounts, saved events, listings, and claims.

You control optional features

Account creation, saved-event reminders, calendar connections, location access, and claim confirmation are initiated by you or provided with clear controls.

We do not sell personal data

We do not sell personal information for money. Information is shared only as described here—for service delivery, security, legal requirements, public listings, or at your direction.

Listings may be public

Event, place, community, organizer, route, image, logo, website, and social information intended for directory publication may be visible to anyone.

You may request privacy help

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or other action regarding personal information associated with you.

Section 1

Scope and Who Is Responsible

This Privacy Policy applies to SkateTerminal.com and the services and features operated through the website, including accounts, listings, claims, saved events, reminders, calendars, maps, route tools, contact forms, purchases, and administrative listing-management systems.

Skate Terminal operates the website and acts as the controller or business responsible for personal information where applicable. Independent event organizers, venues, shops, registration systems, and external websites are responsible for their own data practices.

Section 2

Where Information Comes From

  • Directly from you when you register, submit or claim a listing, save an event, connect a calendar, upload a route, make a purchase, or contact us.
  • From organizers and contributors who submit information about events, venues, places, communities, or related people and organizations.
  • From public sources, including official websites, public social profiles, event pages, public calendars, venue pages, and registration pages.
  • Automatically through cookies, server logs, security systems, analytics, and normal website operation.
  • From service providers, such as payment processors, email services, calendar platforms, login providers, map services, hosting providers, and anti-spam or security tools.
Section 4

How We Use Information

  • Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Skate Terminal.
  • Create, display, verify, update, relate, archive, and correct listings.
  • Provide accounts, claims, saved events, reminders, calendars, maps, route tools, imports, exports, and user preferences.
  • Send account, security, service, reminder, claim, organizer-verification, and transactional messages.
  • Process orders, subscriptions, promoted listings, sponsored placements, refunds, and related accounting.
  • Detect duplicates, spam, fraud, abuse, security incidents, and inaccurate or stale information.
  • Measure performance, understand use, improve search and discovery, and plan new features.
  • Comply with law, enforce agreements, protect rights and safety, and resolve disputes.
Section 5

Public Listings and User Content

Listings and related content are intended to help the public discover skating activities and resources. Information such as event names, organizer names, public business contacts, dates, addresses, maps, routes, websites, social links, descriptions, images, logos, reviews, comments, and related listings may be visible publicly and indexed by search engines.

Do not place private, sensitive, or confidential personal information in public listing fields. When you submit content about another person or organization, you confirm that you have permission to share it or that it is lawfully available for the intended directory purpose.

Public listing information may remain in search caches, backups, archives, or third-party shares for a period after it is corrected or removed from Skate Terminal.
Section 6

AI-Assisted Research, Import, and Review Tools

Skate Terminal may use automated or AI-assisted tools to locate public listing candidates, organize public information, identify possible duplicates, compare current and proposed listing values, normalize fields, suggest relationships, or help administrators review imports and updates.

These tools may process public page content, URLs, listing fields, source references, images, and administrator instructions. Proposed changes are intended to be reviewed through controlled administrative workflows before publication or application.

Skate Terminal does not use AI-assisted listing tools to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about individuals.
Section 7

Listing Claims and Event-Owner Outreach

For imported events or listings associated with a public organizer email, Skate Terminal may send a limited service message asking the organizer to review the listing, confirm whether information is current, report that the listing is not theirs, or begin the listing-claim process.

Claim invitations may contain a signed, time-limited link associated with the listing and contact email. Depending on the selected workflow, the recipient may register or log in through the normal claim process, or may explicitly confirm ownership before an account is matched or created using the organizer email. Merely opening an email or visiting an invitation link does not by itself create an account or transfer ownership.

We may record invitation status, delivery attempts, confirmation choice, claim status, approval history, and timestamps to operate the claim process, prevent repeated outreach, and protect listings. Claim requests may require administrator approval or a configured claim package.

Section 8

Saved Events, Reminders, Alerts, and Email Delivery

If you save an event or subscribe to a reminder, Skate Terminal may use your account or email address, selected timing, event identifier, event date, and delivery preferences to send the requested message. Optional change alerts may notify you when selected event information changes.

Email systems may maintain queue status, sending attempts, delivery response, failure or cancellation reason, rate-limit records, unsubscribe status, and diagnostic logs. These records help deliver requested messages, prevent duplicate or stale email, investigate failures, and protect the system from abuse.

You can stop optional reminder or outreach messages through the controls provided in the message or website. We may still send essential account, security, transaction, claim-status, or legal messages when necessary.

Section 9

Google Calendar and Other Calendar Integrations

When you choose to connect Google Calendar or another supported calendar service, Skate Terminal requests only the authorization and data reasonably necessary to provide the selected calendar feature. This may include authorization tokens, calendar identifiers, event identifiers, and the title, date, time, location, description, or link needed to create, update, or remove synchronized calendar entries at your direction.

Calendar data and authorization are used only to provide and maintain the calendar integration, troubleshoot it, protect the service, and comply with law. Google user data is not sold, used for unrelated advertising, or transferred for unrelated profiling. Access is limited to the purposes disclosed here and in the authorization screen.

You can disconnect an integration through Skate Terminal when that control is available and can revoke Google access through your Google Account permissions. Revoking access may prevent future sync; calendar entries already created in your account may remain until you remove them.

Manage Google access

Review and revoke connected-app permissions directly in your Google Account.

Section 10

Maps, Location, Addresses, and GPX Routes

Skate Terminal may process listing addresses, venue locations, map coordinates, route points, distance, elevation, street or trail information, and uploaded GPX files to display maps, build routes, calculate route information, generate directions, or create downloadable route files and printouts.

Device location is requested only when you choose a feature such as “use my location” or map centering and your browser grants permission. Location permission can be changed through your browser or device settings.

Map tiles, geocoding, elevation, routing, and address-search providers may receive technical data such as IP address, browser information, coordinates, or search text needed to return the requested map result. Their own privacy policies apply.

GPX files and public route listings can reveal precise locations. Do not publish a private home address, sensitive access point, or route information you are not authorized to share.
Section 11

Orders, WooCommerce, Payments, and Refunds

If you purchase a product, claim package, listing upgrade, promotion, subscription, or other paid service directly from Skate Terminal, we may process order details, billing name and address, email, purchased items, transaction references, payment status, refunds, and tax or accounting records.

Payment-card or bank information is generally submitted directly to the configured payment processor rather than stored in full by Skate Terminal. The payment provider and WooCommerce-related services may process information under their own policies.

Purchases completed through an independent organizer, ticketing platform, venue, shop, or external website are handled by that third party and are subject to its privacy and refund practices.

Section 12

Cookies, Local Storage, Analytics, and Logs

Skate Terminal and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, server logs, analytics, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, maintain carts, protect forms, prevent abuse, measure performance, understand navigation, and improve the website.

Some cookies are necessary for requested features. Other analytics or optional technologies may depend on your region and available consent controls. You can also manage cookies through your browser; disabling them may prevent account, cart, map, calendar, saved-event, or preference features from working correctly.

Section 13

Embedded Content, Social Links, and External Websites

Listings and pages may include embedded videos, maps, registration forms, calendars, social posts, images, widgets, or links from external services. Embedded content can behave as though you visited the provider directly and may collect data, set cookies, or track interactions according to the provider’s own policy.

Skate Terminal is not responsible for the privacy, security, accuracy, or practices of independent organizers or external websites. Review their policies before submitting personal or payment information.

Section 14

How We Share Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • Publicly, when information is submitted or maintained for public directory publication.
  • With service providers that support hosting, email delivery, security, analytics, maps, routes, calendars, media, payments, customer support, backups, and website operations.
  • At your direction, such as synchronizing an event to your connected calendar or publishing a listing you submit.
  • For legal and safety reasons, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, enforce terms, investigate abuse, or protect rights, property, safety, and service integrity.
  • During a business change, such as a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of website assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Skate Terminal does not sell personal information for money.
Section 15

Legal Bases for Processing

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, Skate Terminal relies on one or more of the following, depending on the context:

  • Contract or requested service, such as accounts, claims, reminders, calendar sync, orders, or support.
  • Consent, such as optional integrations, device-location permission, or optional communications where required.
  • Legitimate interests, such as operating a useful public directory, maintaining accurate public listings, preventing abuse, securing the website, and improving services, balanced against individual rights.
  • Legal obligations, including tax, accounting, consumer protection, legal process, and compliance duties.
Section 16

Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining listing history and integrity, honoring preferences, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations.

  • Account information may be retained while the account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward.
  • Public listing content may remain until corrected, archived, transferred, or removed.
  • Reminder, outreach, claim, and email-delivery records may remain long enough to operate the feature, honor opt-outs, prevent duplicate sending, and investigate failures or abuse.
  • Signed claim or verification links expire according to configured security settings.
  • Order and transaction records may be retained for tax, accounting, dispute, and legal requirements.
  • Backups may retain deleted information temporarily until they rotate out under normal backup schedules.
Section 17

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have some or all of the following rights:

Access Request information about personal data associated with you.
Correction Correct inaccurate account or listing information.
Deletion Request deletion, subject to legal and operational exceptions.
Portability Request a usable copy of certain information where required.
Restriction or objection Ask us to limit or stop certain processing where applicable.
Withdraw consent Withdraw consent for optional processing without affecting earlier lawful use.
Communication choices Unsubscribe from optional reminders or outreach and manage connected services.
Complaint Contact an applicable privacy or data-protection authority.

We may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request. Some information may be retained or withheld when permitted or required for security, fraud prevention, public-interest records, freedom of expression, accounting, legal claims, or other lawful purposes.

Skate Terminal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
