Welcome to SkateTerminal.com (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Site”). These Terms & Conditions (“T&C”) govern your use of the Site, its features, and related services. By accessing or using our Site, you agree to be bound by these T&C. If you disagree, you may not access or use the Site.
1. Accounts & Authentication
1.1 Facebook & Google Login
You may register and log in using Facebook or Google OAuth. By doing so, you authorize us to access and store your public profile information (e.g., name, email, user ID). Your use of these login options is governed by Facebook’s and Google’s Terms and Policies. Revoking permissions may deactivate your account.
1.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
2. Services & Features
2.1 Community Events & Organizer Tools
Users may browse, join, and create events (weekly group skates, instructor sessions, gatherings). Organizers must provide accurate event details, follow all applicable laws, ensure participant safety, and comply with any Site rules. Minors (<18) must have parental consent and adult supervision at events.
2.2 Marketplace: The Shed (User-to-User)
The Shed is a community-based classifieds section for users to post and browse listings for skate gear and accessories. All transactions are conducted directly between users.
- SkateTerminal.com does not process payments for Shed listings.
- Users are solely responsible for arranging payment and delivery.
- We do not verify listings, buyers, or sellers, and disclaim liability for any disputes or damages.
- Use secure, verifiable methods when communicating and transacting with others.
2.3 The Skate Terminal Shop (Official Store)
SkateTerminal.com also operates an official online store (“The Shop”) using WooCommerce. Products listed in The Shop are sold directly by SkateTerminal.com. We accept orders and payments for these items through secure third-party payment gateways.
By placing an order in The Shop, you agree to the following:
Return/refund policies for items purchased from The Shop are outlined in our Refund Policy.g from use of The Shed.be displayed at checkout. Payment process via WooCommerce; we do not store payment details.
All prices are listed in USD and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Orders are processed and shipped within the U.S. only at this time.
We accept payments via WooCommerce-supported payment methods (e.g., credit/debit card, PayPal, Stripe, etc.).
Shipping times and costs are shown at checkout.
2.4 Instructor Finder & Live Chat
Users may locate local skate instructors, message them, and schedule lessons. Instructors are independent users and are responsible for their own services, including liability, pricing, and scheduling. We do not guarantee or endorse instructors.
3. Content & Conduct
- You are solely responsible for the content you upload (listings, profile info, chat messages, event info).
- Do not post illegal content, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or offensive.
- We reserve the right to review, remove, or disable access to any content.
4. Intellectual Property
All Site content (design, graphics, text, logos) is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not use it without our permission.
5. Liability & Waivers
5.1 Risk Assumptions
Skating activities, events, and gear trading involve inherent risks, including injury or property damage. You participate at your own risk.
5.2 Liability Waiver for Events
For events and lessons, you may be required to sign a waiver releasing SkateTerminal.com and affiliated instructors or venues from liability. Minors must have a guardian sign.
5.3 Photo & Video Participation
You grant us the right to take and use photos/videos featuring you in events or Site-related content for promotional purposes. If you do not want to be included, please notify the event organizer in advance.
6. Payments, Fees & Refunds
We may charge fees for marketplace transactions or premium services. All fees are clearly displayed before purchase. Refunds are subject to the seller’s policy and WooCommerce terms. We can withhold or refund fees at our sole discretion.
7. Dispute Resolution & Indemnification
You agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SkateTerminal.com, affiliates, and associates from any claim, liability, damages, or expenses arising from your activities on the Site or violation of these T&C. We also maintain the right to assume your defense.
8. Governing Law & Arbitration
These T&C are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes shall be resolved via binding arbitration in a neutral location or small claims court if eligible. Sections regarding indemnity and IP survive termination.
9. Termination & Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your account or access for violations, illegal behavior, or inactivity, without prior notice. You may also delete your account via your settings.
10. Changes to These T&C
We may modify these T&C at any time, with changes becoming effective upon posting. You should review them periodically. Continued use implies acceptance.
