International Skating Union

The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing organization for figure skating, synchronized skating, speed skating, and short track speed skating. It coordinates international competition calendars, technical rules, championships, rankings, results, records, athlete information, and official communications across its member federations.

Disciplines

ISU figure skating includes women’s and men’s singles, pair skating, ice dance, and synchronized skating. Speed skating covers long-track racing on a 400-metre oval, while short track features direct racing on a smaller ice circuit. Each discipline operates under its own technical regulations, competition formats, qualification systems, and seasonal calendar.
