NYC Summer Streets is New York City DOT’s annual open-streets celebration, turning major corridors into car-free public space for walking, biking, skating, running, fitness classes, public art, performances, giveaways, and community programming.
The official NYC DOT page says 2026 dates will be announced soon. Because the export currently contains 2025 date rows, this page should promote the event concept and direct visitors to DOT updates, but should not invent 2026 Saturdays until DOT publishes them.
What to expect
Select Saturdays, usually 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with borough-specific corridors and rest stops announced by NYC DOT.
Skaters can use the car-free streets, but should watch for walkers, cyclists, families, activations, and changing route density.
NYC DOT says the event is rain or shine and directs people to official Instagram/X for schedule changes.
