Philly Free Skate

Philly Free Skate 2026 was Philadelphia’s annual free three-day inline-skating weekend, held from Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28, 2026. Group skates started from the east side of the Philadelphia Museum of Art at the bottom of the Rocky Steps and explored city streets, trails, landmarks, and surrounding neighborhoods.

The weekend included intermediate and advanced routes, with published distances ranging from about 10 miles to more than 20 miles. Routes highlighted locations such as Fairmount Park, Boathouse Row, Manayunk, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Penn’s Landing, Chinatown, and the Schuylkill River Trail. Each skate included a rest stop, and participants could join one route or take part throughout the weekend.

This was an urban street-skating event for intermediate through expert skaters. Participants needed to be comfortable navigating traffic, hills, curbs, rough pavement, and changing street conditions. Helmets were required, every participant had to sign a waiver, and the organizers advised skaters to bring water because of typical summer heat.
