From 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, the organizer offered free 30-minute taster sessions with inline skates and protective equipment available in many sizes. The sessions were intended for beginners and returning skaters of different ages, with anyone under 18 required to attend with an adult.The same afternoon included open skatepark and pump-track time, skills support, and demonstrations by Rollerblade professional Si Coburn. Participants using loan equipment were asked to book an available size and arrive early enough to check in and get fitted.Beginner’s MileFrom 3:45 PM to 4:30 PM, the Beginner’s Mile gave newer skaters a short introduction to group street skating. Participants were expected to control speed, stop and turn reliably, manage curbs and inclines, maintain an average pace of approximately 8–10 mph over a long route, attend the safety briefing, and finish without assistance. Lights and protective equipment were strongly recommended.Marshal and safety rulesStreet-skate participants were required to remain behind the lead marshal, stay ahead of the rear marshals, leave room for moving marshals to pass, and follow all safety instructions. Dangerous behavior, skating under the influence, or ignoring the marshal team could result in removal from the activity.
