Every Wednesday, 8:00 PM–10:00 PM through October 6, 2027
Wednesday Night Skate NYC is a community skating meetup built around rolling together, meeting other skaters, and keeping the local skate scene active.
This page is designed to give skaters the essentials before they head out: when the group meets, where to start, how to follow last-minute updates, and what to bring for a smooth street-skating session.
How this skate works
Arrive early enough to meet the group, gear up, and understand the route or pace.
Community skates can adjust for weather, traffic, daylight, or city conditions.
Bring lights, water, protective gear, and skates suitable for outdoor surfaces.
Use the update links below for same-day route notes or cancellation messages when available.
Who it is for
This is best for skaters who enjoy group energy, city routes, social skating, and a flexible meetup format rather than a closed-course race.
Plan this event
Use these actions to register, follow updates, get to the meetup or venue, and plan your stay around the event location.
Before you go
Save the event page and check updates before leaving.
Bring the skating gear, protection, hydration, and clothing needed for the event format.
For outdoor events, allow extra time for weather, route, parking, and local travel conditions.
I always bring my GoPro because this skate is full of amazing moments. The city lights, the tunnels, and the bridges make for epic footage. If you love capturing movement and energy, this is the perfect event.”
Wednesday Night Skate is an absolute blast! The energy of skating through NYC with a huge crowd is unreal. The route is well-planned, with plenty of smooth roads and iconic city views. My only tip—bring good wheels because some streets can be rough!
This is my favorite way to spend a Wednesday night. The music, the lights, and the community make it feel like a rolling party. I usually stop for photos because the views are amazing. Definitely recommend!
This skate is my weekly cardio! The 12-mile route is long enough to push yourself, but there are enough stops to rest. I love how everyone encourages each other, especially on the uphill sections.
I convinced my whole friend group to come, and now we’re hooked. It’s so much fun skating in a pack, weaving through traffic together. We’ve even made friends with other skaters who now join us for weekend sessions.
I was visiting NYC and decided to join after seeing a post about it. Best decision ever! Skating through Times Square and under the bridges at night was surreal. It was a little intense at times, but the adrenaline rush was worth it.
I was a little nervous about joining because I’m not the fastest skater, but everyone was super welcoming. I stuck to the back, and a few experienced skaters helped me with tips. The vibe is fun, but be prepared for a workout!
I’ve been doing WNS for years, and it never gets old. The best part is the mix of people—some skaters are dancing, some are zooming, and others are just cruising. We always end up at a bar afterward, which makes for great post-skate stories!
